ACT Alliance launched in Nepal
ACT alliance, a network of over 100 churches and ecumenical organizations working in 125 countries with a combined budget of US$ 1.5 billion was formally launched in Nepal on the 25th of March 2010.
The event was jointly organized by the members of ACT Forum Nepal comprising of three Ingo's namely- Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal, Dan Church Aid (DCA) and Inter Church Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO) Netherlands. The launch was marked with the official release of the music video of ACT alliance. Members from the related embassies working with the aforementioned organizations, government officials, and representatives from the UN agencies were present in the function that was organized in the capital.

With the launch of ACT Alliance in Nepal, the forum members expect to work in a more extensive and elaborate manner in responding to the emergency, humanitarian, development and advocacy needs of the most oppressed and vulnerable communities of Nepal as the alliance has opened doors to a larger pool of funds that could be used for the development activities in Nepal. Despite being a church based and church related humanitarian body, the alliance works for the poorest of the poor irrespective of their religion, caste, creed or nationality.
The global launch of the alliance took place on the 24th of March 2010, while it was marked a day later in Nepal due to the public holiday on the 24th.
